Why your clone sounds generic
Four causes, in the order they are worth checking.
It answers correctly but it sounds like every other AI. Almost always one of four things.
1. The tone field is vague
"Friendly and professional" describes every chatbot ever made. Write how you actually talk: the phrases you repeat, what you refuse to do, how you open, whether you push back.
2. It has your documents but not your delivery
Uploaded material teaches it what you know. It does not teach it how you say things, because written material is you writing, not you talking.
The fix is transcribed speech. Add a recorded call, a talk or a YouTube video. This is the single biggest change most people can make.
3. You have not corrected it
Ask it your most common questions in Test Arena and use Improve this answer on the ones that are not you. Twenty corrections change the voice more than another twenty documents.
4. Guardrails are tight and material is thin
A strict guardrail plus little material produces short, hedged answers, which read as generic. The fix is more material, not a looser guardrail. Loosening it makes your clone confident and wrong instead of vague and safe.
What will not fix it
Adding a sixth document in the same written register. Change the type of input, not the amount.
Rewriting the welcome message. People decide it sounds generic on answer three, not on the greeting.
