Bottom line
You cannot put a chatbot inside Skool. You can put one in front of it, and that is where it does the most good.
The clone answers the questions the About page cannot, captures the email of everyone who is not ready yet, and hands the ones who are to Skool with an invite.
Skool's missing opt-in layer
Skool assumes the visitor is ready to join. Most are not.
Skool treats your About page as a landing page and a checkout in one. That works for people who already know you. Everyone else reads it, has a question, finds no one to ask, and closes the tab. Skool has no form to catch their email and no list to follow up from, so they are gone.
That is the gap creators fill by bolting Kit, ActiveCampaign or Mailchimp onto Skool. A clone of you is the front end of that list: it captures the visitor's email and then answers their questions in your words.
"I can post consistently and keep improving, but client flow still feels random."
Getting clients was the most common problem in our read of 896 coach and course creator posts on Reddit over the last year, at 37%. Content brings people to the door. Something has to talk to them there.
What Skool does and does not allow
Checked against Skool's own help center and Zapier listing, October 2026.

The setup
Visitor talks to the clone, gives an email, gets a sequence, joins Skool.
Build the clone around the question people ask before joining
Train it on what the community is for, who it suits, what happens in the first week, and how you work. Those are the questions people would ask you if they could, and the About page cannot answer back.
Switch on email capture, and ask late
On the Visitors tab of the Deploy step, turn on Capture emails. Let the clone answer a few questions first. An email from someone who has already found it useful is worth more than one forced at the door.
Put it where your traffic lands before Skool
If you have a website, paste the snippet from the Your site tab into its custom code setting, as a section on your landing page or a bubble on every page. If you live on social, use the hosted share link as your link in bio. Both are on every plan, free included.
Tell the clone where to send people
Give it your Skool group URL and tell it when to suggest joining: once someone has described what they want and the community is a genuine fit. The clone makes the case in your words. The link does the rest.
Where to paste the snippet on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, Webflow and Shopify is in Add the chat widget to your site.
The two Zaps
Personify's New Lead trigger starts both. One builds the list, one opens the door.
1. Lead to your email list
- Trigger: Personify, New Lead
- Action: add to a Kit sequence, or to a Mailchimp audience
- The sequence answers the next questions and ends with the Skool link
2. Lead to a Skool invite
- Trigger: Personify, New Lead
- Action: Skool, Invite Member, using the lead's email
- Needs Skool's Zapier plugin, which is on the Pro plan
Free or paid group? For a free community, the instant invite is the fastest path in. For a paid one, let the email sequence do the selling and send people to the About page to check out.
New Lead also carries the page the person came from and the UTM source, medium and campaign, so you can see which post or ad produced the conversation. How the Zapier integration works.
For people who have already joined
On Skool Pro, the Links plugin puts up to three links on your group card, visible only to members. Add your clone's share link there with a plain label such as "Ask my AI clone". Members get answers between calls, and you see what they are stuck on in the transcripts.
Inside the community, the clone handles the repeat questions. The calls, the feedback and the judgement stay with you. That is the part people joined for.
Common mistakes
Sending ads straight to the About page. Anyone who is not ready to join that minute is gone, and you never learn who they were. Put a page you own, with the clone on it, in front.
Relying on Skool for follow-up. Skool has no opt-in form or email list for people who have not joined. If they leave the About page, Skool cannot reach them. Kit or Mailchimp can.
Inviting everyone instantly. An invite to someone who only asked one question is noise. Send the invite from the email sequence, or only for leads whose conversation showed real intent.
A clone that only knows the price. People join communities for the people and the method. Train it on wins from members, how the calls run and what you teach first.
Frequently asked questions
Can I embed an AI chatbot inside Skool?+
No. Skool has no custom code, HTML or script option, and its plugins do not include one. Video embeds are limited to YouTube, Vimeo, Loom and Wistia. Anything that claims to sit inside a Skool page is really a link out.
Where does the clone go instead?+
In front of the community: on your own landing page, your link in bio, or the website you send traffic to before Skool. For existing members on Skool Pro, the Links plugin can put the clone link on your group card.
Can I put the clone link on my Skool About page?+
Not in the description. Skool says links in the About page description will not work, because they affect click-through and conversion.
How do leads end up in Skool?+
Through Zapier. The Personify New Lead trigger can add the person to a Kit sequence or a Mailchimp audience, and a second Zap can use the Skool Invite Member action to invite them to your group. The Skool Zapier plugin needs the Pro plan.
Is this a voice clone?+
The self-serve clone is a text clone. Voice cloning is part of the Done-For-You build.
